Rogue Ales & Spirits launched a new sparkling, whiskey based ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail – a Ginger Lemon Whiskey Mule. The canned craft cocktail is made from just five premium ingredients: Rogue Spirits Whiskey, ginger, lemon, simple syrup, and sparkling water.
The Ginger Lemon Whiskey Mule joins Rogue Spirits’ family of RTDs, including the more traditional Ginger Lime Vodka Mule. Rogue also sells an RTD Cucumber Lime Gin Fizz, Grapefruit Vodka Soda, and Cranberry Elderflower Vodka Soda. This is the company’s first whiskey-based canned cocktail.
All of Rogue’s sparkling craft cocktails contain 7.5 percent ABV. They are all made with Rogue spirits and all natural ingredients, and are gluten free. In fact, many of Rogue’s cocktails are farm to can, grown on its own land.
This newest RTD utilizes a blend of 4 to 6 year old Rogue whiskey that was distilled and aged at the Rogue Spirits distillery in Newport, Oregon.
It took us about a year to get it right and we’re proud and excited to finally introduce our Whiskey Lemon Ginger Mule.” – Steven Garrett, VP of Business Development
Rogue has Spirited History
Founded in 1988, the Newport, Oregon based Rogue Ales & Spirits is as unique and free spirited as its name implies. In 2008 the brewery founded its own farm in Independence, Ore., where it grows its own crops such as honey, cucumbers, pumpkins, and four kinds of hops (Sterling, Belma, El Dorado, and Strata, in case you were wondering).
Rogue’s beer, spirits, and craft sodas are all made from home grown ingredients. The brewery is so committed to the DIY ethic that they even forge their own barrels at its facility, Rolling Thunder Cooperage.
At the Farms Tasting Room, guests can choose from 12 draft beers, each highlighting the ingredients grown on location. Tours of the farm are also free, and after the tour you can play cornhole on the lawn. Don’t forget to say hi to the mascot, Shakespeare Snout the pig!
Rogue even has its own “Bed ‘n’ Beer” in Newport, where guests can stay above the Bayfront Public House. Although the Bed ‘n’ Beer is temporarily closed due to the on-going COVID-19 situation, the historical site is the first place where Rogue Ales were brewed. All of Rogue’s pubs and the Rogue Farms Tasting Room are currently open and following social distancing and safety guidelines.
Rogue Makes CBD Seltzer, too.
For those looking for a softer beverage, Rogue makes a CBD infused seltzer. The naturally flavored, alcohol free seltzers contain 20 calories per 12 ounce can and 30 mg of nano-emulsified CBD. Rogue Recreational CBD Seltzer Water comes in Lavender Mint Lemonade, Passion Fruit Blueberry, and Ginger Yuzu.
Rogue Sets the Bar High
Given Rogue’s commitment to forging its own quality ingredients, you can be sure that its new Ginger Lemon Whiskey Mule is a truly well-crafted cocktail. The drink’s tagline – “we mixed it so you don’t have to” – encapsulates why RTDs have become so popular.
Consumers want the convenience of enjoying a premium craft cocktail at home without taking a mixology course first. And Rogue’s Mules can be enjoyed right out of the can – no special copper glassware is required, although they did take care to make the can the same color as a traditional Mule mug, which is a nice touch.
With its premium, farm to glass ingredients that comprise Rogue’s beer, spirits, and cocktails, we can’t wait to taste what they’ve done with whiskey.
