Anchor Brewing Company, which celebrates its 125th anniversary this week, is commemorating with a logo change and the launch of Little Weekend, a light golden ale infused with juicy mango flavor.
“It’s kind of going after the hard seltzer crowd,” Anchor Brewing’s pilot brewer Dane Volek recently told the San Francisco Chronicle, “but I still wanted it to taste like beer.”
While now discontinued, the brewery did have success with its Mango Wheat beer, and the new mango-infused Little Weekend.
The beer, brewed with ale yeast, comes in 12 ounce cans and boasts only 100 calories. It keeps the calorie count down and the carbs at 6.5 grams per can, as the alcohol content is only 3.7% ABV.
Along with the logo change and further commitments to sustainability practices, the company also announced the launch of its direct to consumer (DTC) online ordering at AnchorBeerToGo.com.
