Months after introducing their unique line of Sparkle glacier spiked seltzers, Avery Brewing Company has revealed a new flavor to join the original three. The Colorado-based brewery has added Mango to the still-new Sparkle line-up, joining Cherry Lime, Grapefruit, and Cran Raz.

Avery’s seltzers have received positive reviews from critics and craft drink fans. The makers hope this latest flavor will draw upon that success and further Avery’s presence in the ever-growing seltzer industry.

Mango Makes it Four

With the addition of Mango, the company said that it set out to build upon and improve Sparkle’s strong and crisp flavor profile without adding any additional sweetening. They wanted a fourth flavor that would stay true to the first three with their brisk and tart fruity tastes. Avery has always taken great pride in its all-natural approach to beer – and now hard seltzers – and claims that it sets them apart from other competitors on the market.

When they declared their new seltzer venture, Avery swore to stay true to their “beer first” commitment and looked to bring the same integrity they add to their beer to the world of hard seltzers. The fact that new flavors are being added just months after creation of the initial three proves that Avery has faith in this new avenue of business.

In early 2020, Avery announced its Sparkle line in hopes of competing with other breweries producing ultra-successful hard seltzer brands. After months of trying options and perfecting tastes, the company chose its three fruit-focused varieties. The drinks, created with all-natural ingredients, locally sourced water, and zero added sugars, were settled on after a trial of over 60 different flavor options.

The company states that the product’s components are harvested straight from the Colorado headwaters and Arapaho Glacier, hence the trademarked term “glacier-spiked”.

Flavor Options

All of the Sparkle flavors are 5% ABV and only 100 calories with 1.5 carbs. 12 packs of the 12-ounce cans began selling in February 2021 in the Sparkle Variety Pack. Avery has also introduced the Sparkle Berry Pack, which features what Avery refers to as “berry-forward” flavors Blackberry Açaí, Blueberry Lemon, Red Raspberry, and Strawberry Watermelon.

Avery Brewery was founded more than 25 years ago in the snowy mountains of Boulder, Colorado with an intention to create perfect beer. They quickly made a name for themselves with their strong selection of IPAs.

Some of their most popular hoppy ales include The Maharaja Imperial IPA, White Rascal Belgian-Style White Ale, and Vanilla Bean Stout.

Hard Seltzer Here to Stay

Their shift to creating other drinks such as hard seltzer came after many competitors began to experiment with non-beer products to reach a new generation of customers.

Avery was hesitant to join into the seltzer craze due to their commitment to beer above all other drinks. The company only decided to move forward if it could concentrate heavily on quality, consistency and a dedication to all-natural ingredients and bright flavors.

It seems quite evident now that they are fully committed to stay in the hard seltzer arena.
