The irreverent, pranking social media vloggers known as the Nelk Boys have promised to add their own branded hard seltzer to their lineup of merchandise and various other opportunistic offerings. The new hard seltzer will be called Happy Dad hard seltzer, according to posts on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.
The product instantly appeared on beverage alcohol online sites such as BevMo! and Craftcity in California, although it is not actually available for purchase. Four flavors were listed, each with electrolytes and packaged in 12 ounce standard cans.
“It’s better tasting, has the perfect amount of carbonation, and it has f**king electrolytes,” said their website.
Founded in 2010 by Niko and Marko Martinovic, Lucas Gasparini, and Kyle Forgeard, a Canadian YouTube personality, The Nelk Boys currently have over 6 million subscribers to its YouTube channel. The current members include Stephen Deleonardis and Salim Sirur, according to Wikipedia.
Nelk Boys stunts, carefully crafted to promote sales of its merchandise, have caused controversy and led to the shutdown of accounts and arrest of its members. TMZ reported in April that Forgeard was arrested for impersonating a security guard.
In 2020, the group allegedly violated social distancing protocols by throwing maskless parties at Illinois State University, creating a “public health risk,” according to a BuzzFeed report. They have protested COVID-19 restrictions in Los Angeles, in a stunt they dubbed “open the gyms.”
The Canadian YouTube stars got still more media attention after throwing a party in September, 2020, at a rented house on the New Jersey shore. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy called it “knucklehead behavior” by the unmasked partiers who attended.

Forgeard tweeted that they didn’t intend for such a big crowd and that security guards were overwhelmed.
