Beverage industry disruptors Flying Embers have snagged craft beer industry veteran Nick Lundquist, the company announced in a statement on Thursday. Flying Embers, a leader in the growing beyond beer segment, produces premium hard seltzer and hard kombucha.

Lundquist was hired as Chief Sales Officer of the Ventura, California, based company. He brings over 25 years of beverage industry experience to the position, including 17 years with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, which is headquartered in Chino, California.

Part of Lundquist’s mission will be “managing and developing the company’s robust sales force, developing and partnering with the wholesaler network, and leading the national retail execution strategy,” according to a statement from the company.

Flying Embers aims to “disrupt the $600+ billion global beer market by catering to today’s modern consumer with the most flavorful, functional products currently on the market.” And who better to help disrupt the beer market than a beer industry expert?

“Nick brings the highest level of sales expertise and industry-wide respect to our team, which will help us continue to cater to today’s consumer and position Flying Embers as the leader in beyond beer and modern alcohol fermentation,” said Bill Moses, founder and chief executive officer of Flying Embers.

“I am thrilled to join Bill and the Flying Embers family,” Lundquist said of the news.  “Bill is a visionary, and he is assembling an impressive team to help guide the company forward. I was immediately drawn to their team’s drive, passion, and tenacity, not to mention their collective brain power. I knew instantly that this was a rocketship brand, and the kind of opportunity that I had been searching for.”

Flying Embers Hard Seltzer is available in six different flavors, all containing 5% ABV and USDA certified organic. The Sweet & Heat pack includes Guava Jalapeno, Pineapple Cayenne, and Watermelon Chili. The Fruit & Flora pack comes with Black Cherry Rose, Clementine Hibiscus, and Passionfruit Elderflower.

The beverage maker’s hard kombucha comes in two collections – Light & Live or High Alcohol. At 4.5% ABV, Light & Live comes in Berry, Grapefruit Thyme, and Lemon, with Lemon Cayenne in the pipeline.

Ranging from 6.8 to 7.2% ABV, the higher alcohol line includes Black Cherry, Ginger, Pineapple Chili, and Prickly Pear Blue Agave. Flying Embers also has fun releasing limited edition batches of hard ‘booch, like Apple Spice Vanilla and Strawberry Lemongrass.

Founded in Ojai, California, Flying Embers was born out of a wildfire – the 2017 Thomas Fires, to be exact. “We saw the power of a spark, and it ignited a fire within us.”

“Today, all of our beverages are infused with gratitude, and handcrafted with intentional ingredients meant to illuminate and celebrate the experience of life.”

As a result of its fiery beginning, Flying Embers now donated a portion of all of its proceeds to first responders. “We provide burn shelters to those fighting the blaze, fireproof gel for homes, and basic food and necessities to frontline workers,” the company proudly says.

You can find Flying Embers for sale in outlets and online.
