Can of Salt Point Margarita cocktail

A new ready-to-drink (RTD) canned Margarita cocktail is here, just in time for National Tequila Day this Saturday, July 24. Salt Point is introducing its premium premade Margarita.

The new canned cocktail is crafted with Blanco tequila made from Weber Blue agave. It is mixed with house made triple sec, lime, and agave syrup.

“Not all margaritas are created equal,” Salt Point boasts. “Especially this one. It all adds up to a premium, top-shelf Margarita that’s down for anything.”

This sparkling margarita contains no artificial preservatives and clocks in at 10% ABV, giving the alcohol warming you might expect. Each 12 ounce can contains two servings that can be enjoyed over ice or straight from the can.

Salt Point’s canned cocktails are the perfect companion to outdoor activities, as they are easily portable yet require no mixing.

In a statement announcing the release, Salt Point noted that the RTD segment “is now bigger in volume than the total spirits category in the US, and is expected to overtake wine this year” according to research data from June’s IWSR Drinks Market Analysis.

The new Margarita joins other successful canned cocktails in the Salt Point lineup.  The company produces Gin Highball, a version of the vodka based Greyhound, and a classic Moscow Mule. All of Salt Point’s varieties are available for a suggested retail price of $4.99 per individual can, or $17.99 for a four pack.

Like Salt Point’s other varieties, the Margarita “is [em]blazoned with a whimsical mermaid reminiscent of seaport characters and stories,” according to the company, which sounds like a line from the Looking Glass song “Brandy.”

The Moscow Mule packaging features a salty sea captain, and the Greyhound and Gin Highball are graced with a wolf and a bear, respectively.

Salt Point is currently available for sale in 11 states, including California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Montana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Connecticut. Folks in other states can now buy the RTDs online as well.

Although it is an apt name for a margarita purveyor, Salt Point is actually named for a state park located two hours north of San Francisco. The company calls it “a place that evokes the natural beauty and character of Northern California and seaport towns everywhere.”

The cocktail company was founded in 2013 by Heather Wyatt. Today Salt Point prides itself on its simple yet delicious craft RTDs.

“Everyone at Salt Point—all six of us—is committed to quality ingredients and the finest of spirits,” the company says.

“Though things can get a little foggy around here, we’re clear about this: less is more. That’s why we keep the ingredients to a minimum and prefer to sail by the stars. So whether you’re hanging with old friends or interesting strangers, Salt Point invites you to kick back and raise a can.”

Celebrate this year’s National Tequila Day in a simple way – with a premium craft canned Margarita from Salt Point. We can’t wait to see what delicious drinks this NoCal company has in store next.
