Another soft drink company is going hard and jumping on the alcoholic seltzer trend. Talking Rain’s Sparkling Ice, known for its flavored seltzers and fizzy waters, just introduced their first alcoholic beverage: Sparkling Ice Spiked.

Introduced in select markets in August, Sparkling Ice Spiked comes in a variety 12 pack featuring four flavors: Cherry Lime Cooler, Lemonade Refresher, Ruby Fizz, and Strawberry Citrus Smash. Each 12 oz. can contains 80 calories, one gram of carbs, zero sugar, and four percent alcohol by volume.

CEO Chris Hall has high hopes for the new venture. “We are thrilled to introduce a new alternative to the adult beverage world that delivers the taste our consumers are looking for while shattering the expectations of what everyone has come to expect from hard seltzer. With full flavor and zero sugar, we’re confident that the new Sparkling Ice Spiked will satisfy your hard seltzer cravings and quickly become your go-to beverage for everyday entertaining, outdoor grilling and weekend escapes.”

Currently Sparkling Ice Spiked is available in six initial test markets: Southern California; Buffalo, NY; Tampa, FL; Portland, OR; Des Moines, IA; and Minneapolis, MN.

Talking Rain joins a long list of beverage companies eager to add hard seltzer to their portfolio. Coca-Cola will enter the spiked and sparkling game later this year; it plans to release a hard seltzer under the Topo Chico brand in select Latin American cities, with US markets to follow in 2021.
