As the hard seltzer space continues to grow, more and more celebrities are starting to get in on the fun. Ohza, makers of premium canned mimosas, recently welcomed several new high profile investors and ambassadors.

Champagne cocktail makers Ohza are one of the fastest growing ready-to-drink (RTD) companies in the US. The beverage makers welcomed Kelley O’Hara, Chandler Parsons, Dominique Wilkins, and Iann Dior as investors and partners in the brand.

O’Hara is an Olympian with a gold medal and two FIFA Women’s World Cup Championship titles to her name. Parsons and Wilkins both come from the NBA and both played for the Atlanta Hawks. Ian Dior is a recording artist most recently known for his number one Billboard song “Mood” and number one album “I’m Gone.”

In addition to providing capital, the new partners will also serve as high profile brand ambassadors.

“I was intrigued by the concept of a canned mimosa. After tasting Ohza – and loving it – I knew I wanted to get involved, as I genuinely believe they’re making something special,” said O’Hara. “The flavor profiles are delicious, and they’re made with natural ingredients, which makes drinking an Ohza that much more enjoyable.”

Ohza is currently available in four flavors: Classic Mimosa, Mango Mimosa, Cranberry Mimosa, and Classic Bellini. According to the company, each can contains “up to 80% less sugar and 60% fewer calories than a typical mimosa.”

It’s made with premium sparkling wine, natural fruit juice, and – perhaps best of all – does not require glass stemware. Each 12 pack of cans is equivalent to four standard-size bottles of champagne and two cartons of juice.

Ohza has made such a splash thanks in part to the online, direct-to-consumer (DTC) market. Ohza currently ships to 43 states, and orders over $50 ship for free.

Ashland Hard Seltzer, owned by former filmmaker Josh Landan, is another spiked and sparkling beverage with star power. The company is co-owned by a number of professional athletes, influencers, and two of the guys from Workaholics, making it the Planet Hollywood of hard seltzers.

Adam Devine and Blake Anderson are both in on the Ashland action, as is NFL quarterback Jared Goff. The LA Rams traded Goff to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford as part of a high profile deal last weekend.

Promising “something for everyone,” Ashland Hard Seltzer comes in eight standard flavors: Blackberry Lemonade, Lime, Tangerine, Pineapple, Mango Strawberry, Watermelon, Tropical Cherry, and Raspberry Lemonade. It is also currently available in three limited release flavors: Ginger Peach, Orange Pineapple, and Malbon Fruit Punch. Each 12 oz can contains 99 calories, zero sugar or carbs, and five percent ABV.

The star-studded seltzer was created with the idea that the drink should be “craft made with all-natural, organic ingredients and alkaline water for outstanding taste and purity.”

The star power behind premium RTDs and hard seltzer is another sign of its staying power. While buying into a drinks brand is a hip investment for celebrities, it’s a great way for a brand to bring attention to smaller craft beverage makers.
