With everyone from actor Ryan Reynolds to Buckingham Palace slinging gin, the juniper-based spirit is definitely having a moment. London distiller 58 Gin is taking advantage of two trends with their new gin-based hard seltzer.

Clocking in at a mere 67 calories per can and four percent alcohol by volume, 58 Gin Hard Seltzer is currently available in two flavors: Raspberry and Pink Grapefruit. 58 Gin uses a reverse osmosis process to enhance water purity and taste.

Distilleries have rapidly been entering the darling market of hard seltzer, with recent entries from Deep Eddy Vodka, Treaty Oak Distilling, Colorado Heart Distillery, and Smirnoff.

Carmen O’Neal, managing director of 58 Gin, stands by the distiller’s refined process. “Hard seltzers are a fast-growing category and it’s a space that will become very competitive, very quickly,” O’Neal said. “We wanted to do something different from the start, which will appeal to consumers, and using gin as a base for our hard seltzer does exactly this. The cut from the heart of the gin gives the hard seltzer a smoother and lighter taste than the more commonly used grain spirits and fortified wines.”

58 Gin Hard Seltzer is available for sale throughout the UK.
