A new facility in Santa Clarita, California, will provide manufacturing of alcoholic beverages such as hard seltzer and canned cocktails. DrinkPAK, a new player in the co-manufacturing space has leased a strategically located building and begun hiring for key positions.
Just 35 miles NW of downtown Los Angeles, the facility in Needham Ranch industrial park is on California Hwy 14, near the 405/I-5 interchange. The building boasts 172,000 sq ft, 14 dock doors, and 36 ft clear height.
DrinkPAK will have a well-known neighbor. Amazon is occupying an adjacent 100,000 sf building in the Needham Ranch industrial park.
The facility is expected to be operational sometime in the spring of 2021, just in time for a Hard Seltzer Summer 2021.
Santa Clarita Growing in Interest for Distribution and Manufacturing
CEO Nate Patena said in a statement that the company received assistance from the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC), and the City of Santa Clarita, in navigating the permitting requirements. “We are grateful for the support of Holly Schroeder and her team,” said Patena. Holly Schroeder is President and CEO of SCVEDC, and recently named Chair of the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board.
The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation has a staff that works as a liaison with corporations, developers, and commercial realtors to facilitate an easy transition to a company relocation or de novo project. And then after a site is ready, the organization goes to work to assist with recruiting talent and even job training. Recent projects include Riedel Communications, which announced a relocation of their North American headquarters to the area.
Facility Providing Hard Seltzer Production
The DrinkPAK facility will focus on hard seltzer, canned cocktails, and energy drinks. Offering batching, processing, canning, and distribution, the co-manufacturing plant will provide large and small brands to expand operations without investment in capital equipment.
The company expects to employee 200 people and at full production could potentially produce 150 million cans per month.
