The makers of Bang Energy are out to make sure you’re 2021 is bangin’.  New details about the upcoming release of their MIXX hard seltzer are now available, including electrolyte content and retail outlets.

MIXX will be available in variety packs as well as 6, 8 and 12-packs of the Frosé Rosé flavor, a new version of the flavor made famous by the company’s energy drink line.

Diverse Flavor Profile

Unlike many initial launches of hard seltzer brands, MIXX will include seven flavors:

  • Frosé Rosé
  • Lemon Drop
  • Strawberry Blast
  • Purple Kiddles
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Mango Bango
  • Piña Colada

The products are formulated with the energy drink flavor profiles that made the brand famous. Confirming our first look report, the hard seltzer will have 5% ABV, no carbs, no added sugar, and no artificial flavors. Each 12 ounce can will have 100 calories and boasts 4 electrolytes, a claim not often found in alcoholic beverages.

Does hard seltzer have electrolytes?

MIXX hard seltzer will have 4 electrolytes: sodium citrate, magnesium citrate, malic acid, and potassium phosphate dibasic. The hydrating power of electrolytes is not often found in hard seltzer brands. Smaller regional players, such as Colorado’s Upslope Brewing and Seattle’s Waveline have announced seltzers infused with electrolytes. The sodium (Na) found in MIXX combines with magnesium (Mg) and potassium (K) for added benefits that Bang’s existing fan base would expect.

The industry has seen hard seltzer infused with other health-boosting ingredients, such as Yerbuzz’s drink that is infused with yerba mate.

No Caffeine in MIXX

Jack Owoc, inventor of this new hard seltzer, has opted to not include caffeine in his new hard seltzer. Other alcoholic drinks, such as Four Loko, have come under scrutiny by the FDA for combining caffeine with alcohol. In 2010, the FDA famously warned Four Loko and others that their drinks were a public health concern.

Although Owoc is not afraid of controversy, such as with his recent announcement to fire Pepsi as distributor, this move avoids potential backlash among the health conscious consumers who catapulted his line of energy drinks into significant market share compared to Monster and Rockstar.

Where can I find MIXX?

The company plans to distribute MIXX through the retail outlets that have already garnered success for its energy drinks. The first outlets to receive it will be QuikTrip and 7Eleven convenience stores, as well as grocery stores inside Target and Walmart.

Kroger grocery stores will also soon be selling MIXX.
