SweetWater Brewing introduces Oasis hard seltzer, fortified with both electrolytes and Vitamin C.

The US brewery, recently acquired by Canadian cannabis company Aphria Inc. [NASDAQ: APHA], announced today that Oasis will be released in four varieties, including some new and interesting flavors combinations. Raspberry-Lemon, Strawberry-Kiwi, Mango-Passionfruit, and Black Cherry-Lime will grace the 12-packs.

The company stated in a release that consumers will find the new product in stores before the end of January in some markets. Building on the premium hard seltzer product differentiation, these hard seltzers will contain more than just carbonated water, alcohol base, and flavorings.

The new products are infused with electrolytes from potassium salt additions, antioxidants and vitamin C derived from organic superfruit ingredients. Energy drink maker Bang recently announced a hard seltzer with electrolytes.

The Oasis hard seltzer formula is a result of the company’s survey of millennials who drink craft beer and hard seltzer seltzer drinkers aged 21 to 44. Millennials are increasing showing a preference to hard seltzer over craft beer.

Adding vitamin C is a strategy that’s been successful from Molson Coors’ (NYSE: TAP) Vizzy brand of hard seltzer. Vizzy recently announced hard lemonade product extensions that also include vitamin C.

Oasis flavors come in 12 ounce cans, each containing 100 calories, 1g carbs, 1g sugar, and 5% ABV. The new hard seltzer not only has organic superfruit, but only uses vegan and gluten free ingredients.
