A new line of ready-to-drink (RTD) canned cocktails is about to hit the East Coast. Meet VOSA, the new premium “Spirit Soda” that wants to be your new favorite spiked and sparkling drink.

VOSA Spirits, LLC, was created by a team that hopes to disrupt the hard seltzer market. The new RTD company has a mission to “change consumers’ drinking habits.

Several of the hard lemonades that rose to prominence in the early days of the canned cocktails are actually made with malt liquor, making them similar in composition to beer.  VOSA, however, is among the submarket of beverage makers that set themselves apart by using real, premium spirits in its canned cocktails.

VOSA uses vodka to spike its seltzer. “The brand coined the term [Spirit Soda] to match the simplicity with which they’ve paired vodka with soda to create a new premium drink,” according to a press release announcing the launch.

In order to achieve a superior taste, VOSA is committed to “clean, natural ingredients and simple, high-quality formulation.” With its clean label and healthier profile, the company wants to become “the new classic.”

The premade vodka soda is available in two flagship flavors – cranberry and lemon. The new company plans to “release new and innovative flavors. They aim to grab hold of a generational drinking trend and push the boundaries of flavor combination and classic tastes,” the company said in a statement.

Each can contains 99 calories, zero sugar or carbs, and 5% ABV.  VOSA uses 6x distilled charcoal filtered premium, gluten-free vodka to craft their Spirit Sodas. VOSA can be enjoyed straight out of the can or poured over ice. It is delicious with a slice of fresh lemon or a few cranberries sprinkled in to bring out its flavor.

The new spiked and sparkling beverage, made with the health conscious consumer in mind, launched at this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit show. The show was held at the Mondrian Hotel Miami Beach on July 10. Over 1,000 guests attended the star-studded event.

Beginning this month it will be available up and down the East Coast, from New York to Miami. While VOSA is based in Miami, its founder has roots in Canada, which explains its NY and South Florida connections.

Starting this month, VOSA canned cocktails will be available at 110 retailers in the tri-state Metro New York area. The company plans to expand to the West Coast this fall.

The innovative new VOSA was “brought to life by a team of people with a diverse set of skills and expertise who sought to raise the bar in the market of hard seltzer and canned cocktail drinks,” according to a statement from the company.

Both lemon and cranberry are available in four packs or single serve 12 oz. cans. It will soon be available for sale online to select states. For consumers looking for a high quality, premium RTD with crisp, clean flavors, VOSA’s new Spirit Soda might be the calling.
