Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery is the latest craft beer brewer to launch hard seltzer. On Tuesday the company officially launched Good Company hard seltzer, a spiked and sparkling beverage inspired by the tastes of the Rocky Mountain State.
Good Company comes in five flavors, all inspired by the fruits found in the fertile Western Slope region of Colorado: Apple Pear, Black Cherry, Peach, Mountain Berry, and Honeydew.
Bucking hard seltzer norms established by big brands like White Claw and Truly, Good Company comes in a variety 15-pack so you can enjoy the Colorado harvest all year round. Each can of Good Company contains 100 calories, 2 carbs, zero sugar, and 5% ABV.
Brewery with Great History
Founded in 1990, Breckenridge is the third-oldest craft brewery in the state. A-B InBev purchased the brewery in 2016 and it’s now part of The High End, the company’s craft and specialty beer unit.
Breckenridge is known for its craft beers made with bold flavors and adventurous ingredients like Vanilla Porter, Avalanche Amber Ale, Agave Wheat, and popular Strawberry Sky. Breckenridge’s brews are now available in 35 states.
The brand, however, still stays true to its Colorado roots. Breckenridge collaborates with the Denver Comic Con every year to offer a comic-themed limited edition beer, and fans are invited to vote on its name.
Breckenridge is committed to giving back to the community. Since the start of the pandemic, the brewery has been committed to “Feeding the Frontlines.” Through the program, the company has been “able to match up to 250 meals each month and, to date, have delivered over 1,900 meals to nine area hospitals.”
Velvet Canned Cocktails from Breckenridge
In the beyond beer category, you can also find Velvet Variety, Breckenridge’s ready-to-drink (RTD) “nitro twist” on canned cocktails. “If a velvet malt beverage sounds like simply the bee’s knees, that’s because it is,” the company boasts.
“Inspired by speakeasy-era egg-white cocktails, yet crafted without egg-whites, Velvet Variety’s unique concoctions are an easier way to elevate any occasion. Nitro power naturally pours that iconic white crown for a simple, classic touch.”
The 7% ABV RTDs are available in three different varieties: Pink Velvet (Raspberry & Juniper), Purple Velvet (Elderflower & Botanical), and Golden Velvet (Tart Lime & Bitters). The heady cocktails can also be spiked with your favorite spirits for that extra speakeasy kick and are available for sale in a (Velvet) Variety 12-pack.
Where to Find Good Company
You can currently find Good Company across its home state of Colorado, and you can use its online beer locator to help you track it down. Free delivery is also available in select parts of the state.
We hope that they will be expanding soon, as such unique flavors as Honeydew and Apple Pear have us longing to taste the Rocky Mountain State.
It is exciting to see more craft beer makers expanding into the hard seltzer and RTD canned cocktail space. It’s another signal that the growing beyond beer category is not just a passing trend, but here to stay – and likely to keep growing – in the future. Kudos to Breckenridge Brewery for taking delicious chances with both Velvet Variety and Good Company.
