Saint Arnold Brewery has finally released its much anticipated hard seltzer, and it is just groovy. Superfine Hard Seltzer will be available in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth area starting Monday, with more Texas markets to come soon. Hard Seltzer News first reported on Saint Arnold’s spiked and sparkling expansion in September, when the brewery first applied for trademark protection. If early reviews are any indication, it seems that Superfine Hard Seltzer was worth the wait indeed.

As the name suggests, Saint Arnold’s new Superfine has a retro, 1970s aesthetic, which is a unique take on such a new segment. The nostalgically striped cans bare the beverage’s name in a font so fly, it should be wearing bell bottoms.

Superfine will be released in four hip flavors: Berry Lounge, Lemon Drop, Mimosa Morning, and Sangria Sunset. Each 12 ounce can contains 95 calories and 4.5 percent ABV. They will be sold in a variety 12 pack and available to enjoy at Saint Arnold’s Beer Garden.

The new hard seltzer is sweetened with 100 percent real fruit, yet contains zero sugar and only 2 grams of carbs. The brewery took its time developing a delicious yet better-for-you that it could truly call Superfine.

Quality Products

“We focused on achieving the highest quality and taste while maintaining low calorie and carb counts,” founder and owner Brock Wagner said in a statement. “It was challenging and there was a steep learning curve, especially since our process is different from other seltzers on the market. The end results make all the hard work worth it.”

The Houstonian Mag reports that Berry Lounge is fruit forward yet smooth, with no aftertaste. “The fruit hit quickly and then dissipated, leaving just the slight taste of alcohol before it smoothed out.”

Saint Arnold is Houston’s oldest craft brewery. It was founded in 1994 by Wagner and college friend Kevin Bartol, who named their brewery after the Patron Saint of Brewers.

The company brings the same passion to its new Superfine Hard Seltzer as it has brought to creating high quality beer with soul. Saint Arnold also makes hard cider in Original Dry, Honey Agave, and Just Right Semi-Dry varieties.  Alongside beer and cider, the new “Seltzer” tab on the company website is a big commitment for the brewery.

Houston Parade Continues

At the time of Saint Arnold’s founding, Houston was the largest city in the nation that lacked a craft brewery.  Lately the “H” in “H-Town” stands for “hard seltzer.” Saint Arnold joins a growing number of Houston breweries adding hard seltzer to their respective portfolios, including Eureka Heights, which released its spiked and sparkling Fizzy Pants

earlier this month.

Fizzy Pants, which is available in Grapefruit, Peach, Strawberry, and Watermelon, boasts a different flavor profile from the wine cocktail inspired Superfine.

Houston’s Karbach Brewing Co. also released its own take on Ranch Water, a classic Texas cocktail made with lime and agave. As part of the Brewers Collective, Karbach encourages its customers to recycle their PPE onsite in exchange for merchandise and other goodies. Saint Arnold offers its own unique recycling program, where fans can collect six-pack carriers and exchange them for cool stuff.

Will Saint Arnold become the patron saint of seltzeries next? We can’t wait to taste their nostalgia-inspired vibes in the ultra contemporary format of hard seltzer.
