Dallas-based brewery, Community Beer Co., is relocating to a new mega-facility for beer and production of Brite Side Hard Seltzer. The 70,000 square foot facility will be located in the Medical District at Pegasus Place, Exxon Mobil’s former campus, which recently underwent major renovations. The brewery’s old facility is closed while they prepare to move into their new home.

According to Community Beer Co.’s website the new location will feature a two-story tap room, a restaurant, a beer garden, an outdoor amphitheater, and many spaces for private events including the Barrel Room, the architecture of which was cleverly designed to look like guests are dining inside of a beer barrel.

There will be a larger space for brewing as well as a distillery that will produce whiskey, vodka and gin-a first for the brewery which currently focuses on craft beers and hard seltzer. The website also mentions they plan to produce wine.

Community Beer Co. opened in 2013 and has focused on community engagement since its inception. The brewery created The Greater Good, a non-profit that sends teams out to help communities rebuild after disasters. Volunteers with the non-profit helped to repair houses that sustained damages in the Houston area after Hurricane Harvey and they did the same for communities affected by tornadoes in Dallas.

More recently, The Greater Good sent out teams to help with plumbing, repairs and clean-up efforts after thousands of homes in Northern Texas sustained damages during the freeze in February.

In 2020 the brewery teamed up with the city of Dallas for Dallas Arts Month. They hosted a can design competition, where local artists competed to have their artwork featured on Community’s Texas Lager cans. Proceeds from the sale of the limited edition cans went to support the arts community in Dallas.

Community Beer Co. currently offers more than twenty different brews in their catalog. In addition to their core beers, they also offer a seasonal selection, a small batch series, limited releases and variety packs. Additionally, the brewery is home to Brite Side Craft Hard Seltzer, which launched earlier this year.

The brand asserts, “We have applied our award-winning craft beer knowledge to the hard seltzer game.  Using only the highest quality ingredients, we’ve created an inspired, fresh, and exciting array of uniquely flavored hard seltzers.”

Brite Side Craft Hard Seltzer is available in four flavors including Pinkies Up (Grapefruit/Peach), Super Fresh (Watermelon/Cucumber), Golden Mule (Meyer Lemon/Ginger/Basil), and Berry Twist (Cranberry/Lime). The seltzer is sold in 12 ounce cans and contains 90 calories, 1 gram of carbs and an ABV of 5%.

The cans come in packs of 12 and 24. The beverage’s website mentions that they are currently in the process of making Brite Side available to consumers in grocery stores, restaurants and bars across Texas and, hopefully soon, in other states as well.

Community Beer Co. plans to complete construction on the space in time for a grand opening this fall. Meanwhile, fans of the brewery eagerly await the unveiling of the new facility and all of its amenities.

With a bigger facility and new beverages in the works, fans hope this move will create an opportunity for the brewery to share their award-winning craft beers and seltzers, as well as their love for the Dallas community, with a much wider audience.
