Salt Lake City-based Simplicity Cocktails has introduced a new line of canned spirits complete with innovative resealable lids. The premium vodka and bourbon will be Simplicity’s first foray into spirits. The company is known for their extensive line of ready-to-drink canned cocktails. The company states that their spirits are the first in the country to be packaged in resealable cans.

Simplicity’s premium canned vodka is crafted with Idaho potatoes. According to the company, “We choose Potato Vodka for its superior flavor, texture, and versatility which leads to crisp and clean cocktails along with a smooth standalone taste.”

The potato neutral spirits are distilled in Idaho to 95%, and then the distillate is proofed to an ABV of 40% by Simplicity at the company’s Salt Lake City lab. The vodka is available in 200ml and 355ml cans, both resealable. It can also be purchased in 750ml and 1.75 liter bottles as well as a 1.75 liter box.

Simplicity’s premium canned bourbon whiskey is crafted with American Bourbon, distilled in North Carolina and packaged at Simplicity’s lab in Utah. Simplicity’s premium bourbon whiskey “is a bold spirit with subtle hints of sweetness which can be sipped neat around the campfire, on the rocks while tailgating, or mixed in cocktails while enjoying a sunset in your backyard.” The spirit contains an ABV of 59%.

“The Simplicity Cocktails team is excited to introduce our new first-of-a-kind vodka and bourbon lines to our collection,” stated the Co-Founder of Simplicity Cocktails, Chris Weed.  “As the weather heats up, so will all the outdoor adventures. These elite spirits married with our innovative resealable cans will add a refreshing reward to all the Utah action this summer.”

The resealable lids are more sturdy and easy to use than some of the older versions on the market. Simplicity insists the lids offer “ultimate on-the-go functionality. Simply lift the lid, slide it back, pour vodka, and reseal wherever you are.”

The innovative lids make searching for travel flasks and dealing with broken glass bottles a thing of the past. For reference, two 355ml cans are equal to slightly more than a fifth of spirits and, with the company’s upgraded resealable lids, they are a functional choice for any activity or event.

Founded in 2018 by Chris Weed and Chad Linville, Simplicity was the first canned cocktail company in Utah. In addition to their new line of canned spirits, the brand boasts 11 varieties of premium canned cocktails including a Moscow Mule, a Bourbon Mule, a Gin & Tonic, a Gin Rickey, a Margarita, a Vodka Rita and several flavors of Vodka & Soda. All of their canned cocktails feature natural flavors and are made without gluten or malt. The beverages all have ABVs between 6%-10%.

It is undeniable that canned cocktails are having their moment. The global RTD market is set to reach almost $26 billion by 2025. Simplicity is hopeful that their resealable canned spirits will be as well received as their canned cocktails. The company’s motto gets right to the point, “Our brand is Simplicity. Because good cocktails shouldn’t be complicated.”

The new canned vodka and bourbon will be available through Simplicity’s storefront. The company is aiming for availability throughout Utah by the end of the year.
