Volley Tequila Seltzer has debuted new, cleaner packaging on its award-winning line of canned cocktails. On October 1 the ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage brand introduced foil toppers to its line of seltzers. The addition of the foil topper will help ensure the outside of “the first clean tequila seltzer” is as clean as its inside.

Volley Co-Founder Christopher Wirth explained that he and his wife, Camila Soriano, “started Volley because we weren’t seeing what we were looking for in the RTD market and felt the need to create a brand around ingredient transparency.”

He continued, “Our packaging innovation is super exciting for us because of two things.
First, it highlights the fact that you do need to flip the can since there is real, organic juice (never from concentrate) in there. Real juice settles, flip the can! Secondly, it allows our consumers to have peace of mind that the can they are putting their mouth on is void of any bacteria or germs which is especially important during a time of heightened concerns.”

In addition to helping keep germs away and reminding consumers “to do the Volley flip” before enjoying, the foil toppers also contain educational facts about the brand underneath.

In a post-pandemic world, consumers have become increasingly concerned with ensuring their surroundings are sanitary both on-premise and at home. Volley’s new foil topper creates a barrier between health hazards the can might encounter during transit, stocking or shelf time and the consumer’s mouth. “Research shows disturbing amounts of bacteria can get onto cans through the supply chain on their way to consumers’ mouths,” Wirth warned.

Volley Tequila Seltzers are currently available in four clean flavors including Spicy Ginger, Sharp Grapefruit, Tropical Mango and Zesty Lime. The seltzers can be purchased in 4-can packs of individual flavors or as a variety pack. All four varieties contain between 100 and 110 calories each, no added sugars and no gluten.

“The fact that the TTB [Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau] doesn’t require ingredient labeling or nutritional facts like the FDA does, shocked us,” Wirth admitted.

Volley, on the other hand, prides itself on its commitment to “mixing the realest ingredients into pure, canned delight.” Each flavor of Volley contains only three ingredients–100% blue agave tequila from Jalisco in Mexico, sparkling water and organic juice.

Volley Tequila Seltzer is available in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington D.C. The sparkling beverages can also be shipped nationwide via the company’s e-commerce site.

Volley’s husband and wife team has an ample amount of industry experience. In addition to Volley, Wirth is also the Co-Founder and President of the American Cocktail Co., which produces a premium line of mixers “crafted by the world’s best mixologists.” Soriano is the mixer company’s Chief Financial Officer as well as its Chief Operating Officer.

Volley Tequila Seltzer’s new foil topper is another way the brand’s founders are continuing their commitment to creating a clean drinking experience. Wirth insisted, “We’re on a mission to build the cleanest products possible and this is one step for us along the journey.”
