FELLR has launched a new range of cocktail seltzers, a first for Australia, officially welcoming consumers to “a land of fizz.” The beverage company debuted its Watermelon Margarita Cocktail Seltzer earlier this month and plans to release a Passionfruit Martini Cocktail Seltzer in November. The beverages launch just in time for summer in the Down Under, which officially begins the first week of December.
The independent seltzer company describes its new Watermelon Margarita Cocktail Seltzer as “inspired by the traditional cocktail favourite, carefully balanced with lime and fresh watermelon to give the pre-mixed cocktail a subtle sweetness.” The fruit-forward drink contains only 97 calories, less than 1 gram of sugar and an ABV of 6.5%. The brand can be purchased in alcohol retail locations throughout Australia.
Founders Andy Skora and Will Morgan insist, “Traditionally cocktails have been heavily laden with sugar and calories, at FELLR we decided to take our experience of great tasting, low calorie beverages, and create a range of delicious and smashable Cocktails that have next to no sugar and have half the calories of the traditional shaken cocktails.”
The duo founded FELLR in July of 2020 with the release of its flagship line of hard seltzers. The seltzers are currently available in four flavors including Passionfruit, Watermelon, Lime & Soda and Dry & Lime. Each flavor contains 83 calories, less than 1 gram of sugar and an ABV of 4%.
Skora and Morgan both bring a massive amount of drink industry experience with them to FELLR. Skora previously worked with Pernod Ricard and Red Bull. Morgan also worked with Pernod Ricard as well as Stolen, a drink company that produces canned and bottled rye whiskey.
“At FELLR we’re huge on innovation, and have always been looking at where we can take FELLR next. Both coming from a spirits background, cocktail culture and mixology has always been a passion of ours, so we’ve always been excited how we could combine the two spaces,” Skora explained.
The team originally debuted FELLR’s Watermelon Margarita Cocktail Seltzer on-tap at the 2021 GABS Craft Beer & Cider Festival. The beverage received an overwhelmingly positive response and after numerous requests it was officially launched to the public.
“We’re hugely excited for the launch of our new higher ABV range of Cocktail Seltzers, to complement our current range. Cocktail Seltzers are the perfect drink to really dial up the night,” stated Morgan. FELLR recommends enjoying its Watermelon Margarita flavor by dipping the can in a little lime juice or water and salting the rim.
The folks at FELLR are also environmentally conscious. The brand’s new cocktail seltzers are sustainably packaged in cardboard sleeves and the company has committed to doing away with plastic packaging in all of its products by December 2021.
As FELLR expands its product offerings and distribution, the brand has remained true to its Australian roots, “FELLR was born from the laidback coast of Australia. Where the people are as thirsty as the region they inhabit. They measure their life from the company they keep, chasing moments of pure stoke. And we felt this feeling was worth canning.”
